Terms

Terms and conditions.

These terms explain the basic rules for using The SIM Shop and buying digital travel eSIM plans from us.

Quick scan

Check the digital basics before buying.

Travel eSIMs are not posted like physical SIM cards. The main fit checks are phone compatibility, destination coverage, data-only limits and activation timing.

01

Compatible phone

Your phone should support eSIM and be unlocked from your provider.

02

Data-only plans

Most travel eSIMs do not include a local phone number, calls or SMS.

03

Activation timing

Some plans start on install, others on first supported network connection.

04

Fair use

Daily high-speed plans may slow after the listed daily allowance is used.

Using this website

By using this website or placing an order, you agree to these terms and any product, checkout, delivery and refund information shown on the site at the time of purchase.

About our products

The SIM Shop sells digital travel eSIM plans as an online retailer. Most travel eSIMs are data-only unless a product page clearly says otherwise. Calls, SMS, local phone numbers, hotspot use, networks, speeds, coverage and activation timing can vary by plan and destination.

Phone compatibility

You are responsible for checking that your phone supports eSIM, is unlocked from your mobile provider, and is suitable for the destination and plan before buying. Ask support before checkout if you are unsure. This does not limit your rights if our product information or compatibility guidance is wrong or misleading.

Daily high-speed and fair use plans

Some plans may be described as daily high-speed or day-pass plans. These plans include a daily amount of high-speed data. After that daily high-speed amount is used, the connection may continue at reduced speeds for the rest of the daily period under the plan’s fair use settings.

Reduced speeds

Reduced speeds are intended for essentials such as messaging, email, maps and simple browsing. They may not be suitable for HD streaming, gaming, video calls, large app downloads, cloud backups or heavy hotspot use. Actual speeds can vary with plan settings, network conditions, congestion, device settings and local coverage.

Prices and payment

Prices are shown in Australian dollars unless stated otherwise. GST, taxes, fees or payment charges will be shown before payment where they apply. Payment must be approved before an order can be processed.

Digital delivery

eSIM setup details are delivered digitally after checkout once the order is processed. There is no physical SIM card or parcel delivery. Read the eSIM delivery page before buying if you need more detail.

Activation and use

Read the setup instructions before installing or switching on an eSIM. Some plans start when installed, while others start when they first connect to a supported network. Do not delete an installed eSIM unless support asks you to.

Refunds and support

Because eSIMs are digital products, refund handling can depend on whether setup details have been issued, installed, activated or used. Read the refund policy and contact support before installing if something looks wrong.

Consumer rights

Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude, restrict or modify rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law. Where those rights apply, they are not limited by supplier rules, plan status or anything in these terms. For refunds or exchanges outside those rights, we may consider order status, usage, supplier cancellation availability and support evidence.

Accounts and order details

You are responsible for keeping account access and order emails secure. Contact us promptly if you think your account, order details or eSIM setup information has been accessed without permission.

Third-party services

eSIM supply depends on third-party suppliers, mobile networks, payment providers, hosting providers and other services. Some issues may be caused by supplier or network outages, local coverage, device settings or roaming settings outside our reasonable control. We will help investigate support issues where we can, and this section does not limit your Australian Consumer Law rights.

Contact
