A little about The SIM Shop
A shop I’d
use myself.
heya! i’m Lachlan, the founder of The SIM Shop. I love travel and set out to build a store that I'd shop at myself before a trip. and, well, here we are. thanks for stopping by :)
I started the shop.

Where’s my data?
A few familiar buying frustrations.
Give the little machine a go.

A few trips later…
I love the trip part.
The admin? Less so.
A little of how I got from “where’s my data?”
to opening this shop.
For the getting
out and about.
Trains, maps, bookings, translation apps, late snacks, the whole lot. The admin around it, less so.
The phone in your pocket does a lot of little jobs on a trip.
A different provider.
A familiar problem.
Across Japan, Europe, Thailand and other Asia trips, I kept bouncing between providers. One plan would be fine. The next would refuse to activate at exactly the wrong moment.
One shop.
To come back to.
What I wanted was one shop I could go back to every trip. One that checked my phone first, told me which plan actually fit, and priced it in AUD.
I couldn’t find it.
So, here we are.
I wanted a shop I’d happily buy from. Fair pricing, clear plan details, and somewhere to ask for help.
If I wouldn’t pay for it,
I’m not going to sell it to you.

PLENTY OF PLACES.

The things I’d want
before buying.
The small details that make choosing feel easier.
Check the phone first.+
An eSIM needs a compatible, unlocked phone. It’s a much better thing to check before you buy.
Check your phone ↗Prices in plain AUD.+
Data plans priced in dollars you recognise. Check the total and the allowance on the exact plan you choose.
Find your destination ↗The limits belong up front.+
Included countries, validity, hotspot terms and setup requirements can differ between offers. Those details matter as much as the amount of data.
About networks and suppliers ↗A person you can reach.+
Send the shop your destination, phone model and order reference. Those details give us a useful place to start.
