Airalo vs Saily: Japan allowances, activation clocks and refunds

Airalo's Japan fixed selector shows 10GB/15 days for A$25.50, or 10GB/30 days for A$26.50. Saily's Japan page shows 10GB/30 days for US$17.99.

Each covers the stated 8GB with 2GB spare, provided the selected running validity spans the whole trip. Airalo's cheaper 10GB/seven-day selection at A$25 does not cover fourteen days. Paying another A$0.50 for its fifteen-day version resolves that specific expiry problem.

Convert the actual payable Saily total with any card fee before deciding which costs less. A US-dollar page capture doesn't prove every customer can only pay in USD, and we haven't completed a card settlement to establish that.

For regular Japan unlimited, Saily currently publishes 5GB high-speed per day, then 1Mbps, resetting at local midnight. Its other destinations can have different daily thresholds, and its separate Ultra service has its own monthly structure.

Airalo's general unlimited policy describes 3GB per 24 hours from activation, then 1Mbps, with package-specific exceptions. Starting at 6pm therefore doesn't establish a local-midnight refill under that general rule.

Imagine a 4GB upload in one high-speed period. It fits within the stated Saily Japan 5GB amount and exceeds Airalo's general 3GB amount by 1GB. That calculation compares published thresholds only. It doesn't predict either network's actual upload speed or establish the best deal for every trip.

Saily includes features such as ad blocking, web protection and virtual-location settings in its service. Those may matter if you want that feature set. They are not a promise of anonymity, immunity from fraud or automatic access to every website. Routing through a remote location can also matter to apps that expect a particular location.

Airalo's wider package catalogue is useful when you want to compare specific local, regional or voice-capable options. Read the selected product for ordinary calls and SMS; a data-only Japan offer doesn't acquire a phone service because another package includes one.

Saily's one-off-plan terms have a thirty-calendar-day unused route with conditions on activation and Extras. A generally-unused activated route requires more than 99% of the plan to remain and the stated Extras conditions. Service-quality complaints have a separate full/partial review; don't assume using 2% removes every possible remedy.

Airalo's ordinary withdrawal period ends at activation or fourteen days after purchase, whichever is first. Fault-related remedies are separate and conditional.

For either provider, keep the profile installed and report the precise problem during the trip. Airalo offers chat routes on its current site, including WhatsApp links; Saily's live chat is in its app, with an email route through support. No published channel proves a response time for your case.
