Airalo vs Ubigi: compare the plan, daily data resets and the refund route

Ubigi's selected Japan 10GB/30-day page displays US$16.50. Airalo's Japan fixed-data selector displays A$26.50 for 10GB/30 days, alongside A$25 for seven days and A$25.50 for fifteen days.

For a fourteen-day trip expecting 8GB, 10GB covers the declared use with 2GB spare. Airalo's seven-day version misses half the trip, while its fifteen-day version fits. Ubigi's thirty-day version fits too.

US$16.50 and A$26.50 are different currencies. Compare the payable total with conversion and any card fee before calling either cheaper. These figures establish allowance and dates, not speed, latency or reception at your accommodation.

Ubigi has selected daily unlimited plans that give you 5GB at faster speeds in each 24-hour period from activation, then 2Mbps until the next period. Other plans give you one faster-data allowance for the whole plan. Use the exact package’s details: an older 25GB weekly limit doesn’t describe every current offer.

Airalo's general policy describes 3GB per 24 hours from activation, then 1Mbps, with exceptions stated in the package. Neither daily amount is a freely shared trip total.

For a hypothetical 7GB upload on one day, a 5GB daily plan crosses its threshold by 2GB and a 3GB daily plan by 4GB. A fixed 10GB balance can accommodate that upload if the rest of the trip stays within the remaining 3GB. Whether the upload is practical still depends on sharing permission and the connection available.

Ubigi's Japan page lists KDDI, NTT Docomo and SoftBank. That is supported-network information, not a promise to combine three connections. Airalo's selected package supplies its own network and connection instructions.

Use those details with the places you'll stay. If a required rural address is the deciding factor, ask the accommodation which network works there and confirm the exact package supports it. If that cannot be established, arrange a suitable alternative and save route details offline. Buying another 10GB won't fix an absent signal.

Ubigi's preloaded-QR refund route generally requires an unscanned QR. Used recharges aren't ordinarily refundable, with a separate remedy for a proven technical fault attributable to Transatel. Its conditions specify a request within fourteen business days of purchase or the issue, with payment evidence.

Airalo's ordinary withdrawal route ends at activation or fourteen days from purchase, whichever comes first. Its technical-fault process is separate. An unused data balance doesn't make every activated purchase eligible under the withdrawal route.

Leave either profile installed while support investigates. Ubigi currently documents conditional reinstallation, including an overall reinstallation limit; Airalo offers recovery for some deleted profiles through the account. Neither makes deletion a sensible first diagnostic.
