Which Google Pixel Phones Support eSIM?

Google’s current model breakdown gives a clear starting point: every Pixel 4 and later supports eSIM. If you have a Pixel 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10 family phone, the model itself clears the eSIM check. Your carrier, region and lock status still matter, which is why the on-phone check below stays important.

Pixel 3a: eSIM works unless the phone was bought with Verizon service or in Japan.

Pixel 3: a model bought in Australia, Taiwan or Japan does not support eSIM. Google also excludes Pixel 3 phones bought from most US and Canadian carriers.

Pixel 2: only phones bought with Google Fi service support eSIM. The original Pixel from 2016 does not.

Pixel 7 and later can use two eSIM profiles at the same time where the operator allows it. Google also notes that the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL sold in the United States are eSIM-only. That US-only tray rule does not describe an Australian Pixel.

1. Find the exact Pixel model and Android version in Settings > About phone.
2. Open Settings > Network & internet > SIMs and look for Add SIM > Set up an eSIM.
3. If the option is absent or the phone is carrier-supplied, ask the carrier/manufacturer about the exact model and operator restrictions before purchase.

If the eSIM option is missing or the exact model is unclear, pause before buying. Keep a cropped screenshot of the setting or error, then contact us before changing other settings. Do not include QR or activation details unless we ask.

Buy before travel, then add the eSIM after landing. Use airport Wi-Fi only after you can sign in and open a normal webpage. If that does not work, use hotel Wi-Fi or another steady trusted connection. Save the setup email before you fly, but do not scan the QR code, tap a quick-install prompt, install or activate the travel eSIM before you leave.

After Pixel’s documented eSIM entry point, follow the labels on your own phone. QR and manual-details menus can vary by model.

Once you have bought the right plan, use Settings > Network & internet > SIMs > Add SIM > Set up an eSIM after arrival and follow the order email.
