A Galaxy name on a retailer's listing or an Add eSIM menu is useful information, but neither settles every regional or carrier restriction.
What Samsung Australia currently lists
Samsung's page, marked updated 21 September 2026 and reviewed here on 30 October, is explicitly for Australian variants. Its phone list includes:

Use the current Samsung Australia list for the owning reference. This table doesn't extend Australian-variant support to an imported handset with a similar name.
Find the model, then its specification
- Open Settings → About phone and note the exact model number, not just “Galaxy S25”. Record the country of purchase and original carrier if known.
- On Samsung Australia's support site, choose that device, open Spec → Network/Bearer, and look under SIM Size for Embedded-SIM, following Samsung's published check.
- Open Settings → Connections → SIM manager or SIM card manager on the phone. Look for Add eSIM or Add mobile plan; labels vary with software and carrier.
- Ask the original carrier whether that exact handset is unlocked for a third-party travel eSIM. The presence of an eSIM menu doesn't prove it is unlocked.
If the specification and phone menu don't agree, ask Samsung about the exact model number and region before buying. If the original carrier can't confirm unlock status, resolve that first or use another compatible unlocked device. Don't buy the plan to test a hardware uncertainty.

We can help compare the device information with the intended plan, rather than treating a broad family name as approval. We'd rather catch a bad fit before you pay.
Once compatibility is established
Buy within the selected plan's purchase-to-start window and save the email before flying. Install after landing on working airport Wi-Fi after sign-in and a webpage test, or use hotel Wi-Fi if that connection isn't steady.
Select the travel line for mobile data, keep home-line data roaming off and disable automatic switching. Follow the issued roaming/APN instructions for the travel line. Our dual-SIM setup guide takes the next steps in order.
