Japan, South Korea and Taiwan fit within Asia 12 Areas. The useful data question is how much all three legs add up to, rather than choosing a fresh allowance for every border.
The planner above gives you a starting estimate from dates, phone-use choices and any sharing. If no destination is selected, choose it first. Check both the amount of data and the number of usable days in its returned options; an allowance has to cover the trip as well as the estimated use.
A Japan, Korea and Taiwan budget
For an illustrative twelve-day trip across Japan, South Korea and Taiwan, choose a budget of 3GB for Japan, 2.5GB for South Korea and 1GB for Taiwan. That makes 6.5GB before spare room, or about 8.2GB after adding a 25% buffer.
Those are planning inputs, not a measured average. Use your own expected transfers or the planner estimate for a personal budget. If you use the planner result instead, its buffer is already included; don’t add the same 25% again.
The 5GB option falls short of this budget. The 10GB/30-day option covers it, including the twelve assumed travel days. The Philippines isn’t in the Asia 12 list; a Manila stop changes the coverage decision even if the remaining data is sufficient.

Match the places and the plan structure
The selected fixed-data option lists: Macao, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia, China, Malaysia, Cambodia.
This is one allowance to use across the listed places. It does not refill each day or at a border. That lets you use more on a busy day and less on a quiet one. A daily plan works differently: you get a fresh fast-data allowance on its own daily schedule.
If you need a laptop connection, confirm sharing for the exact plan, phone and any separate data limit before buying. These offers make sharing dependent on the network and device, so enough gigabytes alone do not promise it will work. If we cannot confirm the work connection you need, arrange another suitable service for that task.
Keep the big downloads on Wi-Fi
Download entertainment and offline maps on Wi-Fi before travel. Pause cloud-photo backup and automatic app updates on mobile data. If those uploads were already in your starting usage total, don’t add them to the budget a second time.
