Is Saily worth it for an Australian traveller?

Suppose you set a budget of 0.7GB a day plus 1GB spare: 8GB. Saily's 10GB/30-day fixed offer covers that amount and duration with 2GB left. So does our Japan 10GB/30-day plan at A$19.95.

The two displayed prices use different currencies. We haven't converted US$17.99 into an invented AUD tariff or declared a winner before the card's exchange rate and fees. If you prefer the account and features you already use at Saily, the fixed offer is a valid fit for that stated budget. If you want an AUD purchase from our shop, our selected plan fits the same data assumption.

The current Japan page describes 5GB at full speed each day, followed by 1Mbps for the remaining daily period. Saily's regular-unlimited terms reset at local midnight, rather than every twenty-four hours from activation. Other destinations can have a 3GB daily allocation, and Ultra subscriptions use separate monthly rules.

An assumed 4GB upload in one Japan day is within that published 5GB daily allowance before other use. An assumed 7GB day exceeds it and reaches the reduced-speed part. Quiet days don't bank unused high-speed data for a later day. That is the useful distinction from the fixed 10GB pool.

Hotspot marketing says sharing is available, while the terms restrict excessive tethering beyond occasional personal use. If your trip depends on a full working day of laptop traffic, give Saily the selected plan, expected sharing amount and devices and ask it to confirm suitability before paying. Choose an expressly suitable connection if that can't be established.

Saily publishes ad blocking, web protection and virtual location. Its virtual-location feature routes traffic through a remote server. That is different from assuming every eSIM changes internet routing automatically, or promising every website and work application will accept that route.

If your employer requires its own VPN or a particular country for login, ask the employer whether Saily's routing and your work security tools are compatible. If it can't confirm that requirement, use the employer-approved connection for work. Don't buy an allowance as a substitute for approval to access a work system.

The Japan page states a 180-day activation period, after which an unused plan activates automatically. Buying far ahead can therefore start a countdown before the trip. Keep its app and order instructions available and distinguish installation, first destination connection and any automatic start deadline.

For our selected Japan fixed offer, the purchase-to-start window is 60 days. Buy within that window and save the email. Install our profile after landing on working airport Wi-Fi after sign-in, or on hotel Wi-Fi if needed. Follow the issued instructions for the product actually bought.

Saily now also markets separate phone-number and calling/text products. That doesn't make its fixed data plan a bundle of ordinary calls and SMS. If a number matters, identify the separate product, supported country and minutes/text allowance. For bank codes addressed to an Australian number, the Australian-line setup still matters.

For a one-off plan, Saily's published refund request window is thirty calendar days from purchase, with separate unused and activated conditions. The generally-unused activated route requires more than 99% remaining and applicable Extras conditions. Service-quality cases have a separate support review. Using more than 1% does not automatically close that route.
