A trip for two people
The group chat might already have opinions about the hair. Give somebody the less glamorous job of reading the hotel booking, because a companion being welcome leaves quite a few travel questions unanswered.
Once you’ve chosen your treating provider, the useful next step is to make the arrangements describe both people. That means actual hotel dates, a sleeping arrangement you are comfortable with, meals and each transfer leg. A companion may be included in one part of the package and charged separately for another.
This guide is about those travel arrangements. Medical decisions, recovery and fitness to fly belong with qualified professionals. Smartraveller’s medical-tourism guidance recommends discussing your plans with your doctor in Australia and reviewing the destination advice. The number of hotel nights in a package doesn’t establish how long you should stay for medical reasons.
Make one booking account for two people
Start with the hotel name and the check-in and check-out dates, then put both guests on the confirmation. Three nights is a duration; the dates tell you which arrivals and departures the room needs to cover.
The beds deserve an ordinary, unembarrassed question too. A double, a twin room and a room with an added bed are different arrangements, especially if the companion is a friend or family member. If the hotel hasn’t been allocated, agree when the property and room details will arrive and who will send them.
Meal inclusions can change the companion’s budget. Breakfast-only means leaving money for lunch and dinner, and the confirmation should say which meals apply to each guest. Keep dietary or care-related requirements with the appropriate provider so they can be addressed specifically.
Read the accommodation wording before counting a saving
Two published examples show how much turns on a small piece of wording. These are travel-inclusion examples reviewed on 21 October 2026, not recommendations of either clinic or assessments of treatment.
Long Hair Center’s hotel page lists three nights, one companion at no extra accommodation cost and breakfast only, with extra guests charged separately. Its general hair-transplant FAQ says companion accommodation may cost extra depending on the package. For budgeting, count a free companion stay only when your personalised quote names that guest and confirms a zero accommodation charge. That gives you a usable answer for your booking despite the different public wording.
My Turkish Hair’s package page lists three hotel nights and an extra bed available for a companion. It doesn’t publish a companion-bed charge or include that person in its patient-transfer description. An available bed is a possible arrangement to price; it isn’t an included saving you can put in the budget yet.
Those examples don’t support an all-in comparison of companion costs. What they do show is why the written quote needs to cover the same two people, dates and journeys you are planning. A cheaper-looking package can change once the second bed, meals and transfers have their own amounts beside them.
Follow each transfer from the airport to the right door
Use the airport on the flight booking when arranging a pickup, rather than simply saying Istanbul. Send the date, flight, passenger names and meeting point to the coordinator. If the departure flight uses another airport, give that journey its own entry.
Then work through the companion’s movements. Someone arriving later, leaving earlier or staying in another hotel needs a separate answer for that leg. Ask whether they are included in the same vehicle on the hotel-to-clinic journey and what happens if they return separately. The practical aim is for both people to know where they are going and who is expecting them.
It is much easier to settle that in an email than while two people wait at different entrances, each convinced the other has the driver’s number.
If a date changes, keep the room and transfers connected. An extra night may move the airport pickup, and a new flight may change the meeting time. Ask the coordinator to confirm the affected arrangements together so the latest itinerary is the one both phones hold.
Keep a short confirmation sheet
You can copy this travel-only sheet into a private note. Record the provider’s written answers and leave missing answers visible until they are settled.
| Detail | What the confirmation should say | Your trip |
|---|---|---|
| Hotel and stay | Property, address, check-in and check-out dates | Hotel: ___; dates: ___ |
| People and beds | Both guests named; double, twin, extra bed or separate room | Guests: ___; beds: ___ |
| Companion price | Included or extra, with currency, total and who collects it | Amount: ___; payable to: ___ |
| Meals | Which meals each guest gets | Traveller: ___; companion: ___ |
| Airport arrival | Airport, flight, meeting point and included passengers | Flight: ___; pickup: ___ |
| Hotel and clinic journeys | Each included outward and return leg | Journeys: ___; passengers: ___ |
| Airport departure | Pickup place, included passengers and who confirms the time | Details: ___; contact: ___ |
| Changed plans | Who arranges extra nights or changed flights, with price and transfer consequences | Contact: ___; terms: ___ |
| After-hours travel help | Contact and fallback for a late flight or missed pickup | Primary: ___; fallback: ___ |
There is no benefit in filling an empty price field with probably included. A clear gap is easier to fix before departure than an assumption that has quietly become part of the budget.
Let the companion manage the ordinary travel information
Both people should be able to find the hotel, open their booking details and contact the travel coordinator. Agree what to share and keep sensitive medical documents and passwords in the appropriate private channel. Helping with a pickup doesn’t require access to every account.
Save a small contact card on both phones:
| Contact | Name or organisation | Number or agreed channel |
|---|---|---|
| Travel coordinator | ___ | ___ |
| Hotel reception | ___ | ___ |
| Booked transfer contact | ___ | ___ |
| Treating team’s designated care contact | ___ | ___ |
| Trusted contact at home | ___ | ___ |
Ask the coordinator whether their travel contact is monitored through WhatsApp, another app, ordinary phone calls or a combination. That distinction helps you choose the phone arrangement too. For maps, booking emails and internet messages on a compatible, unlocked phone, our Turkey eSIM plans let each person organise their own travel data. The listed plans are data-only, so arrange a suitable calling service separately if your contact plan needs ordinary calls or SMS.
If you’re buying for the companion, our guide to buying an eSIM for someone else explains how to hand over the correct setup details. Keep each setup email secure, and save the hotel address and arrival instructions offline as well.
With the second person’s room, journeys and contacts properly included, the companion can get on with being useful. The helpful itinerary is the one that describes what both of you will be doing, with the latest written arrangements in the same place.
