Try the actual route, not the map label
Write down each country where you need mobile data, including an overnight stopover. Compare that list with the selected offer’s coverage, then count from its first supported use through the last day you need it.
For a ten-day trip followed by a five-day leg elsewhere, a seven-day service period won’t cover the fifteen days simply because its GB allowance is generous. Separate country plans can have separate active periods, while one shared plan needs to span the whole covered journey.
Our current Europe range is a useful example: the UK and Switzerland are included in its 32-country list, but Morocco and Andorra aren’t. An older regional order may have different countries, so use its issued list rather than replacing it with today’s product details.
Compare one purchase with the complete basket
Enter the route, dates, usage style and any sharing into Plan my trip. Add the country legs’ estimated usage for a shared total-data allowance, then compare its price with all the separate plans you would need, including their usable days.
A shared plan can be worth a modest premium for fewer setups; separate plans can be better value or cover a stop the shared option misses. If you need ordinary local calls, include that requirement as well rather than treating a data-only plan as a calling bundle.
Does it keep working on the next holiday?
Only if its terms, remaining allowance and active period support that use. Some exact offers support a same-area data reload during active validity without extending the original expiry, while others don’t support reload. Keep the issued instructions and ask about the actual order before assuming an old profile is reusable.
For a new SIM Shop order, save the email before flying and install after landing on working, steady Wi-Fi. Check the phone’s compatibility and unlock status before paying.
