Saily vs Nomad: Japan data, rewards and the refund conditions

Saily's Japan page displays 10GB/30 days at US$17.99. The Nomad Japan page served to this review displayed 10GB/30 days at €14.28, marked down from €16.07.

Both cover an assumed 8GB fortnight with 2GB spare. Convert the actual payable total and any card fee before deciding the cost. These captures don't establish an Australian-dollar winner or a permanent promotion. A sign-in page with an AUD selector isn't proof of an available AUD plan price.

For a longer holiday, match the last data-needed day. A thirty-day allowance that still has 5GB on day thirty does not supply a forty-day trip by itself.

Nomad gives you 25 points for each complete US$5 you spend, with 100 points worth US$1 towards an eligible purchase. Spend US$12 and you earn fifty points, worth US$0.50, or about 4.17% of that purchase. The leftover US$2 doesn’t earn another block of points, which is why the return isn’t exactly 5% on every total.

Points expire after six months under the current guidance. The published returning-customer bonus on eligible 10GB-or-larger purchases has its own conditions and monthly limit. Use the points you can actually earn and redeem for a future eligible purchase, rather than subtracting an uncertain reward from today's card charge.

For someone buying once for a single trip, a points programme may add little. For repeat purchases, the expiry and next intended order matter more than the headline percentage.

Saily's regular Japan unlimited plans publish 5GB high-speed per day, then 1Mbps, resetting at local midnight. That is a daily amount, not a trip pool. Its separate Ultra service has different monthly terms.

Nomad sells multiple plan types. Don't copy an old 512kbps claim, a help article for another package or a plan-database entry onto the Japan product you choose. If its selected unlimited offer doesn't state the high-speed amount, reset clock and reduced rate you need, ask support those three questions before paying. Without a confirmed fit, choose a fixed allowance that explicitly covers your budget or a documented alternative.

Nomad's current refund policy uses thirty days from purchase, with conditional routes for uninstalled/unactivated plans and technical issues. It has specific exceptions, including named DTAC, UK-voice and unlimited products. Deleting a single-use profile or applying a discount can affect the outcome under the policy. Read the selected offer rather than turning the general thirty days into a guarantee.

Saily's one-off unused route also uses thirty calendar days with activation/Extras conditions. Its generally-unused activated route requires more than 99% remaining and the specified Extras conditions. Service-quality complaints have a separate review, so the 99% figure isn't the whole remedy policy.

Report a fault during the trip, keep the profile installed and provide the order, phone, location and error. Current price and rewards don't decide who is entitled to a remedy for a connection fault.
