Do you need sharing or an ordinary phone number?
Don’t treat a data-only listing as included local voice/SMS. Saily has additional services and different offers; confirm which service is in the actual basket. Our selected fixed Japan example is data-only and hotspot is conditional on the plan, network and device.
If a laptop must upload a specific amount, give the seller that transfer budget and ask for the exact selected hotspot rule. If it can’t be confirmed, choose a supported alternative rather than relying on an unlimited label.
Choose a total allowance or daily data for the way you’ll use it
Saily’s published Japan unlimited description gives 5GB at high speed per day, then up to 1Mbps. That is a different allowance model from a fixed-data 10GB pool. A planned 4GB on each of seven days is 28GB in total: a 10GB fixed-data plan doesn’t fit, while a daily offer’s usable days and daily amount need checking against that workload.
For an 8GB total over two weeks, a single allowance can be enough without paying for unlimited. Those are assumed budgets to show the choice; they aren’t average-use claims.
A US-dollar display needs a payment calculation
For the fixed 10GB comparison, Saily’s official Japan page, checked on 31 October 2026 with US dollars selected, lists 10GB/30 days at US$17.99. Our Japan 10GB/30-day fixed offer is A$19.95. We haven’t established a current Australian-dollar checkout quote for Saily, so we don’t label US$17.99 as A$17.99 or claim what every account must pay.
Using an illustrative A$1.50 per US$1, US$17.99 converts to about A$26.99 before any card fee. That assumed rate is only a worked example. Replace it with your payment provider’s current conversion and any fee for the actual transaction.
Buying months early
Saily’s Japan page and regular-plan terms describe a 180-day activation window with automatic activation if unused by that deadline. Our selected Japan 10GB fixed plan has 60 days to start; our 3GB fixed offer has 180. A longer window is valuable when you need it, but the small allowance still has to fit the trip.
Which would we choose?
Compare the final price in one currency, enough data and days, and any specific sharing or account feature. Saily may suit someone who wants its app and selected package features. Our offer may suit someone wanting this particular AUD fixed-data purchase and our support route.
