Seychelles tourist eSIM validity: will a top-up cover the extra days?

MyStay’s 21-day life cannot be extended by recharge. The separate Traveller table has seven- and 21-day packages; for longer app-data use, compare an identified 30-day travel eSIM rather than assuming more local data adds days.

Will the line last as long as the holiday?

An island holiday that grows from three weeks to twenty-four days can expose a phone-plan limit. More data may be available to buy, but that doesn’t necessarily move the service’s final date. Cable & Wireless Seychelles’ MyStay terms make that distinction explicit: its twenty-one-day life cannot be extended by calls, recharge or another chargeable transaction.

Before choosing a visitor SIM or travel eSIM, compare the full stay and decide whether you need ordinary local calls. The local visitor offers can include those calls. Our Seychelles eSIM provides app data, with thirty-day options for a longer visit. They are different services, even when both are described as prepaid.

The named store offers and operator documents below were checked on 25 October 2026. Euro prices are the published Traveller-plan terms, rather than a completed Seychelles Electronic Border System checkout quote. Our prices are Australian dollars.

MyStay, Traveller and regular prepaid aren’t the same product

Cable & Wireless’s ordinary prepaid page describes a starter and top-ups for that service. Its MyStay terms instead describe a visitor-only physical SIM or eSIM with a twenty-one-day limit. Residential SMS, voice and data boosters don’t apply; additional MyStay allowances are bought through MyCare.

The separate Traveller-plan terms describe an offer sold through the Seychelles Electronic Border System, or SEBS:

Traveller packageDataValidityPublished price
Basic10 GB7 days€19.99
Traveller15 GB21 days€24.99
Plus35 GB21 days€34.99
Gold50 GB21 days€44.99

Those terms include unlimited local calls and SMS. They don’t establish included ordinary calls to Australia. Use the exact named package in the relevant purchase route; a regular prepaid booster or differently labelled MyStay allowance isn’t a substitute for a row in that table.

For ten days needing 12 GB and local calls, the 15 GB / twenty-one-day Traveller package fits with 3 GB above the estimate. Basic falls short on both data and duration. Gold has far more data but still lasts twenty-one days, so it doesn’t provide a single-package solution for a twenty-four-day visit.

Registration and activation have their own steps

The Traveller terms restrict the offer to non-Seychellois citizens and non-residents, require a passport and describe a purchase QR to present at registration. Start with the official SEBS service for that named offer. Cable & Wireless’s eSIM guidance also describes visitor registration at its service desks or booking through SEBS.

The Traveller account starts with the first voice call, SMS, data use or qualifying extra credit. After registration, you must activate it within the selected validity period or the inactive card can be terminated. We haven’t completed that registration or payment, so follow the dates and instructions supplied with the purchase.

We haven’t completed that registration or payment. If ordinary local calls are essential for all twenty-four days, the four-package Traveller table doesn’t establish a single purchase covering that requirement. Confirm another local arrangement rather than assuming the largest allowance lasts longer.

What happens to a MyStay top-up on day twenty?

Suppose you are using MyStay and decide on day twenty to stay another six days. Buying additional MyStay data doesn’t move the day-twenty-one limit. You have bought more allowance within the product’s remaining life, not six extra days of service.

A thirty-day booster advertised for regular prepaid doesn’t change that answer. The booster belongs to another product. Use MyCare for the applicable MyStay extras, and choose a longer service at the outset when you already know the trip extends beyond twenty-one days.

That is where validity becomes more important than the size of the allowance. A nearly untouched balance isn’t useful once the service carrying it has ended.

One data allowance for a longer stay

Our Seychelles eSIM provides data without an ordinary local calling or SMS service:

SIM Shop total dataValidityPrice
1 GB7 daysA$10.95
3 GB30 daysA$25.95
5 GB30 daysA$39.95
10 GB30 daysA$72.95
20 GB30 daysA$124.95

For six days with an estimated 800 MB requirement, 1 GB leaves about 200 MB. For eighteen days and 4 GB, the 5 GB plan leaves 1 GB above the estimate. For twenty-four days and 8 GB, 10 GB at A$72.95 leaves 2 GB and enough time: that is the relevant difference from a visitor offer ending on day twenty-one.

A lighter user staying twenty-eight days and needing only 2 GB can choose 3 GB at A$25.95. A long visit doesn’t necessarily need a large allowance. These examples use chosen budgets, rather than a predicted consumption rate for your apps.

Our plans list Airtel as the network, with validity starting on first supported network connection. Each amount is a total with no daily reset. Eligible reloads must stay within active validity; they don’t establish an extension beyond thirty days. Choose a plan long enough for the intended stay before comparing extra data.

Keep the transfer details available offline

Buy our plan before departure and keep the setup email. After landing, use working airport or hotel Wi-Fi to follow its installation instructions, and keep Australian-line data roaming off. Hotspot sharing depends on your phone and the network.

Save ferry bookings, accommodation details and directions offline before transfers. The country coverage and network listing don’t establish a signal on every island, aboard a ferry or in every hotel room.

For ordinary local calling within the documented period, compare the named visitor offer. For app-based contact over the longer stay, compare a suitable thirty-day data plan. Both choices start with the same practical question: will the service still be usable when the holiday ends?
