A daily plan gives you fast data each day, instead of one allowance to spread across the trip. That can suit fairly steady use. Before choosing, compare the price, how many days you need and when the fast data renews.
Our Singapore and Malaysia daily options cover both destinations. The current listed periods are one, three or seven days. If you're away longer, the alternatives below give you a way to cover the whole trip.
What the current daily options cost
| High-speed allowance | 1 day | 3 days | 7 days |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1GB/day | A$8.95 | A$25.95 | A$55.95 |
| 2GB/day | A$12.95 | A$36.95 | A$79.95 |
| 3GB/day | A$16.95 | A$47.95 | A$104.95 |
These are the Singapore and Malaysia daily plans. After the day's high-speed allowance is used, speed reduces to 384kbps until the reset. Keep important bookings and addresses saved offline; we wouldn't build an urgent video call around the reduced-speed allowance.
The allowance applies across the two included countries. Travelling from Singapore into Malaysia doesn't create a second allowance for that day.
The reset is 1am in Singapore and Malaysia
These specific daily plans reset at midnight in the eSIM's UTC+7 timezone. Singapore and Malaysia use UTC+8, so that works out to 1am local time in either destination.
For example, if you use the day's 1GB by 10pm in Kuala Lumpur, the next reset is 1am local time, not midnight. Your hotel clock and your data clock have decided to be slightly different people.
That rule belongs to this offer. The five-country daily option uses a different reset timezone, so don't carry the 1am rule over to another plan.
Use the planner, then compare the actual choice
Enter your dates in the planner above, select your usage style and add any hotspot requirement. Its estimate includes a planning buffer. For a seven-day maps-and-messages trip with no hotspot, the planner estimates about 2.1GB and returns the 1GB/day, seven-day option at A$55.95.
That's a suitable daily option for those inputs. It isn't the only SIM Shop product covering the route:
| Alternative covering Singapore and Malaysia | Price | When we'd consider it |
|---|---|---|
| Asia 7 Areas 3GB, 30 days | A$19.76 | Your total estimate fits within 3GB and you prefer one shared allowance |
| Asia 7 Areas 10GB, 30 days | A$34.95 | You want more total data or a longer trip |
| Five-country Unlimited, 7 days | A$44.95 | You want the offer without a total data cap, including its confirmed hotspot support |
| Five-country Unlimited, 15 days | A$69.95 | You need longer than seven days and that Unlimited structure suits your use |
For the 2.1GB example, we'd compare the A$19.76 fixed-data option first. For a laptop-heavy trip, the five-country Unlimited offer's explicit sharing permission is useful. Its listed typical roaming average is 10 to 20Mbps; actual performance varies.
The Singapore/Malaysia daily plans say hotspot depends on the local network and phone. That isn't the same confirmation as the five-country Unlimited offer. If essential work requires the latter's terms, choose that offer rather than assuming the daily plan has identical conditions.
Timing and installation
Start using these Singapore/Malaysia daily plans within 60 days of buying. Their usable days begin when the eSIM first connects to a mobile network covered by the plan. You cannot reload them, so choose enough days for the full stay.
Buy before travel and save the email. After landing, join working airport Wi-Fi and open a webpage before using the setup email. If airport Wi-Fi won't connect, use hotel Wi-Fi or another steady, trusted connection. Our installation guide has the phone-specific steps.
