What is an SM-DP+ address?
An SM-DP+ address tells your phone where to download the eSIM during manual setup. If your order email supplies one, copy it into the matching field with that order’s activation details. You don’t need to visit it as a website, or type it yourself when the QR code or supported install link handles setup.
It isn’t an APN or an ICCID
- SM-DP+ and activation details: help the phone obtain the eSIM profile.
- ICCID: identifies the SIM/profile. It isn’t the installation code.
- APN: is a mobile-network data setting. Changing it doesn’t replace the installation details.
If an iPhone manual screen asks for an SM-DP+ address and activation code, copy the matching fields from your own email. An Android screen may use a combined activation-code format. Follow the supplied format instead of splitting or joining values yourself.
When the email and screen don’t match
Stop at that screen. Email hello@thesimshop.com.au with your order number, phone model, software version and the field labels or error. Hide the activation values and QR in screenshots. If your email doesn’t include manual details, ask us for the correct route; don’t use an address found online.
Keep the setup details together and private. They are for the intended phone and order, not a way to share one purchase across several phones.
Save now, install after landing
Buy before flying and save the email. After landing, connect to working airport Wi-Fi, hotel Wi-Fi or another trusted steady connection, then follow the email. You can confirm phone compatibility before travel without installing or testing the profile.
