Choose the Andorra service before choosing its format
A phone number and a data allowance solve different travel problems, even when both arrive as an eSIM. In Andorra, the local operator sells a numbered prepaid service as well as a separate visitor data product, so choosing “local eSIM” does not finish the comparison.
Think first about how you’ll contact your accommodation or make a booking. If apps cover it, compare the data and usable days. If you need ordinary calls to Andorran numbers, the numbered prepaid range supplies a service that the two data-only options don’t.
We sell The SIM Shop plans below. Local offers were checked on 21 October 2026; our store prices and terms on 25 October. Local prices below are in euros and ours are in Australian dollars, so the buying examples compare the included service and duration without treating those currencies as equal.
Three services that can look similar in a search result
| Service | What you are buying | Ordinary Andorran calls included? |
|---|---|---|
| Andorra Telecom prepaid S or M | A numbered prepaid mobile service, available with eSIM for compatible phones | Yes, within the selected national-minute allowance |
| The operator’s eSIM Andorra visitor range | Data for use in Andorra for the purchased period | No |
| The SIM Shop Andorra range | A fixed amount of travel data with a stated validity | No |
The physical or digital format does not decide whether a service has calls. Nor does an operator issuing its own visitor profile turn that data-only product into a numbered mobile contract. This matters when an accommodation provider needs a conventional phone call rather than an app message.
Our fixed-data Andorra options
The SIM Shop Andorra range has five total-data options:
| Data | Validity | Price |
|---|---|---|
| 1 GB | Seven days | A$6.25 |
| 3 GB | 30 days | A$15.95 |
| 5 GB | 30 days | A$23.95 |
| 10 GB | 30 days | A$38.95 |
| 20 GB | 30 days | A$70.95 |
The plans list Mobiland with 4G/5G support, start on the first supported-network connection and have a 180-day window to begin after purchase. These are total allowances without a daily refill. Hotspot availability depends on the device and network, so a sharing label is not a guarantee for an essential work connection.
For eight days expecting 4 GB, our 5 GB/30-day option fits at A$23.95 with 1 GB spare. The 3 GB option is 1 GB short; the A$8 upgrade buys the data this example needs. Moving on to 10 GB would add a further A$15 without being necessary for that budget. The holiday photographs may be getting enthusiastic, but the budget still helps you decide how much data to pay for.
Our plans are data only, so app calls and messages use the allowance, while ordinary calls or SMS through your Australian service remain governed by that carrier’s terms. Keeping an app’s familiar number does not move your home carrier’s calling service onto the travel plan.
The operator also sells visitor data without a number
The eSIM Andorra shop lists these visitor products, with taxes included:
| Visitor data | Duration | Advertised price |
|---|---|---|
| 3 GB | One day | €4.95 |
| 20 GB | Three days | €6.95 |
| Unlimited | Seven days | €19.95 |
| Unlimited | 15 days | €39.95 |
Those are the shop cards used in this comparison, including the seven-day unlimited selection, rather than an older indexed seven-day allowance or another seller’s similarly named range. The operator’s FAQ still mentions products with up to 100 GB, which should not replace the actual selected card.
For two days requiring 2 GB, its one-day product has enough data but insufficient time. The 20 GB/three-day visitor offer covers both dimensions at €6.95. Our 3 GB/30-day plan also covers that assumed trip at A$15.95, with 1 GB unused; the currencies, quantities and duration are different, so those prices alone do not establish an AUD winner.
For the eight-day example, the visitor 20 GB/three-day offer and seven-day unlimited offer both fail the duration test. The 15-day offer fits at €39.95. Having data left will not keep an expired plan connected for the final afternoon.
Count elapsed hours, rather than dates on the calendar
The visitor terms define each contracted day as 24 hours, and its FAQ says counting begins with local network connection and data use, rather than payment alone.
Consider a visit requiring 48 elapsed hours of service. One day buys 24 hours and leaves a 24-hour gap; three days buys 72 hours and leaves 24 hours spare. This calculation avoids assuming that a “one-day” plan lasts across every date printed on an itinerary.
“Unlimited” doesn’t settle the laptop question here. The visitor terms restrict excessive transfers without saying how much is too much or what speed you would get afterwards. If you need to upload large files from a laptop, we wouldn’t choose these offers on the unlimited label alone: the published terms don’t confirm they suit that use.
When an Andorran number is the useful inclusion
Andorra Telecom’s numbered prepaid rates include:
| Rate | Charge per 30-day period | Domestic data | Andorran fixed/mobile minutes | Domestic SMS |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| S | €10 | 3 GB | 40 | 10 |
| M | €20 | 12 GB | 100 | 10 |
The prices include tax, and new customers with compatible phones can apply for eSIM, but the listed amounts are rate charges rather than a verified total for issuing a new line. Keep any setup charge separate until the complete purchase is confirmed.
A 30-day stay needing 2 GB and 30 Andorran minutes fits S, leaving 1 GB and ten minutes. For 8 GB and 80 minutes, M fits with 4 GB and 20 minutes spare, although neither rate includes ordinary calls to Australia.
The operator disconnects data when the allowance is exhausted, while extra calls or texts can cost more. Renewal after 30 days uses available credit, with optional automatic top-ups arranged separately.
Two unchanged S periods cost €20 across 60 days, before other usage or issue costs. The stated twelve-month line life after topping up isn’t a year-long data buffet; its additional two-month reactivation window also concerns the line, rather than extending a spent allowance.
France and Spain need their own coverage decision
The direct visitor product is Andorra-only. The numbered service’s domestic data also does not become an included France or Spain allowance; it has separate roaming arrangements.
Our selected 32-country Europe product includes France and Spain but excludes Andorra, as verified in its complete country list on 21 October. For a France–Andorra–Spain itinerary, that specific regional product alone leaves the Andorra stop uncovered. Add a suitable Andorra plan for that stop, while sizing the Europe allowance for the covered legs. The Europe buying guide handles the wider route comparison.
For our plans, buy before departure, save the delivery email and install after landing on working airport Wi-Fi, hotel Wi-Fi or another steady trusted connection, with setup ready before the Andorra leg. Follow your issued instructions and keep Australian-line data roaming off. The Andorra setup guide contains the device steps.
Choose the service that supplies the calls, data and elapsed time you need. For the eight-day app-data example, our 5 GB option gives a clear data budget; for the stated local-calling cases, the numbered S or M service supplies an inclusion the data-only products do not.
