Australian travellers describe using airport Wi-Fi and WhatsApp to contact their driver. If you are using Grab, check the app’s current pickup directions for your terminal. A saved hotel address and the agreed meeting point make a useful backup.
OUT FOR THE DAY
A Bali travel discussion includes a traveller using data for Grab and Gojek, alongside occasional pockets with no signal. That is a practical task to document in a report: whether the pickup message and map pin loaded where the traveller actually stood.
ANOTHER STOP
The discussion’s itinerary spans Seminyak, Ubud and nearby islands. It is a reminder to record every stop separately. An experience in one town cannot establish coverage for a boat crossing, Nusa Penida or the Gilis.
TRAVELLING TOGETHER
Our suggestion: agree which adults need their own connection for rides, directions and staying in touch. Data access alone does not guarantee that an app will accept a particular phone number or complete its SMS verification.
