Choose the Estonia allowance that lasts
Super’s 100GB starter is €7 for seven days in Estonia, which is a lot of local data for a short visit. The useful limit is the clock: those seven days cannot be extended, and the starter has neither an advance calling balance nor a 100GB EU-roaming allowance. For a longer stay with modest use, a smaller plan can therefore be a better fit.
You can buy local service as an eSIM through Super’s app, while a travel eSIM supplies data without an ordinary local number. Choose the allowance and expiry for the trip first, then follow the purchase route for the service you actually need.
Super offer details below were checked on 21 October 2026; our store prices are from 25 October 2026. Prices stay in their original EUR and AUD currencies.
The three Super starters do different jobs
Super’s starter page currently lists:
| Starter price | Starting data and validity | Advance balance and other inclusions |
|---|---|---|
| €1 | 300 MB, thirty days; advertised for Estonia and the EU | €1 advance balance |
| €4 | 4 GB, thirty days; advertised for Estonia and the EU | €4 advance balance, 40 phone calls and 40 SMS |
| €7 | 100 GB, seven days, Estonia only | No advance balance |
The smaller starters’ data validity can be extended with a top-up of at least €5. The 100 GB starter’s validity cannot be extended. That exception belongs in the decision before the large allowance persuades you to stop reading.
The €4 starter lists forty calls, not forty minutes. Its included balance is also part of the stated starter, rather than another €4 purchase to add to the headline price. Conversely, the €7 starter does not include ordinary calls merely because the product is described as a calling card; credit for calls and SMS is separate.
For two eligible phones each needing 50 GB during six days entirely in Estonia, two advertised €7 starters total €14, with a separate 100 GB allowance on each phone. That is a local alternative worth considering for heavy short-stay use, subject to actually completing the app purchase on each device. It is not one shared 200 GB pool or a promise of free ordinary calls.
For a nine-day stay with a stated 2.25 GB total budget, the €4 starter’s 4 GB/thirty-day allowance fits both quantity and duration, whereas the seven-day 100 GB starter expires two days too early. A very impressive pile of gigabytes still cannot negotiate an eighth morning with the expiry date.
Buy the local eSIM on the phone that will use it
Super’s local eSIM instructions and FAQ describe purchasing through the Super app on the same device that will use the service. The app checks compatibility, lets the customer choose a starter and number, then takes payment and downloads the profile.
Activation is by a first call or internet use, and the local starter can only be activated in Estonia. If you land in Helsinki before travelling to Tallinn, do not choose this starter to supply your Finnish arrival data. Its separately linked Super Travel eSIM is a different product, and does not change the local starter’s rule.
The same-device requirement also means an eSIM-capable watch or router is not automatically eligible for the app purchase. The actual device must support the required Super app and download route. Check that you can complete registration and payment on your own phone before relying on a remote purchase.
An existing physical Super SIM also cannot currently be converted to eSIM under the FAQ. Do not buy the physical starter on the assumption that the app will convert it later. The published eSIM transfer options have their own personalisation requirements; they are not a general promise that a profile can be deleted and installed on any replacement phone.
A new data pack is separate from extending the starter
Super’s ordinary internet plans offer larger or longer allowances on a different basis:
| Purchased data pack | Price | Advertised EU portion within the total |
|---|---|---|
| 1 GB | €2.50 | 1 GB |
| 4 GB | €6 | 4 GB |
| 12 GB | €11 | 12 GB |
| 40 GB | €20 | 30 GB |
| 200 GB | €26 | 39 GB |
These packs last thirty days from purchase, or until you use up the data. Buying one doesn’t turn the €7 starter into an ongoing monthly 100GB service. If you’re starting from scratch, include any cost of getting the line as well as the pack price.
Super says buying another internet plan before the existing one expires aggregates the data and extends validity. That is distinct from topping up money without purchasing a pack. For a trip you want covered by one defined purchase, use the standalone thirty-day pack and its stated allowance; do not base the decision on an assumed renewal calendar or a revival of the expired 100 GB starter.
Advertised EU data needs a separate entitlement check
The EU figures in the table are within the total data, rather than additional allowances. A 200 GB pack with a 39 GB EU portion is not 239 GB of combined data. For a stated 42 GB EU-roaming requirement outside Estonia, the advertised EU portion is already 3 GB short, even before considering the customer’s roaming eligibility.
There is another reason not to treat those figures as an automatic Australian-visitor roaming deal. Super links Telia’s roaming reasonable-use policy, headed 13 June 2022, which covers prepaid service and allows requests for evidence of stable links to Estonia. It permits roaming surcharges when those links are not established, with separate provisions for other usage circumstances.
That does not mean every visitor is refused, but the advertised allowance alone does not confirm domestic-price roaming for an Australian on a short stay. Ask Super to confirm eligibility before relying on that allowance for an onward trip.
For the specific Estonia followed by Riga example, neither the Estonia-only 100 GB starter nor our Estonia-only data plan supplies a verified whole-route solution. Do not buy either to cover both countries. For a combined-country plan, use our Europe buying guide. Country or regional mobile data is separate from service aboard a ferry or on a ship’s satellite network.
Number life is not data validity
Super’s starter page and general calling-card terms, effective 17 October 2023, distinguish the number’s life from a data allowance. The number has a 180-day use period from activation or a qualifying single top-up of at least €3, followed by thirty days of limited functions before closure if it is not renewed as required.
Three separate €1 top-ups do not count as one qualifying €3 top-up. More importantly for the holiday, a qualifying €3 top-up does not extend the non-extendible seven-day 100 GB allowance. Keeping a number alive does not buy more internet or restart an expired bundle.
The repeated “180 days” means three different things here. For Super, it’s how long the number stays active under the stated rules. For our travel plans, it can mean the time you have to start after buying; only our 50GB plan also gives you 180 days of service once started. Match the days to what you’re actually buying.
Ordinary calls have their own units and destinations
Super also lists Call 200 at €2.50 and Call Unlimited at €5. Their standard-number scope includes Estonia-to-Estonia calls and EU-roaming-to-EU calls. Calling Finland from Estonia falls outside that stated included scope and is separately charged; crossing a border changes the calling context.
For Call 200, the published terms bill calls to Tele2 and Elisa in five-minute periods, and calls to Telia, Diil and ordinary landlines in 120-minute periods. A hypothetical twelve-minute call to an ordinary Tele2 number spans three five-minute periods. It is not simply twelve minutes deducted from a 200-minute allowance.
Those are Call 200 rules. We do not apply them to the starter’s forty calls without a matched starter rule, or treat the word “unlimited” as included calls to Australia, premium numbers and every destination. For internet-based calls, use the relevant data allowance instead of an ordinary voice-plan calculation.
The SIM Shop choice for a modest Estonia-only stay
For the nine-day, 2.25 GB example, our Estonia eSIM range includes 3 GB/thirty days at A$13.95 for data without an ordinary local number. It covers the stated requirement with 0.75 GB spare, without depending on a new local app account. Super’s smaller thirty-day starter also fits that budget if you can complete its purchase route. The choice comes down to the service and process you prefer, alongside the complete converted cost.
Our remaining current choices are 1 GB/seven days at A$5.95, 5 GB/thirty days at A$17.95, 10 GB/thirty days at A$27.95, 20 GB/thirty days at A$44.95 and 50 GB/180 days at A$149.95. Each is a set total data allowance beginning at the first network connection, without a daily reset or included ordinary voice minutes and SMS. These plans list Tele2 and Telia, 4G/5G, while hotspot availability depends on the network and device.
Use an unlocked, eSIM-compatible phone, buy before departure and save the delivery email. Install after landing using working airport Wi-Fi, hotel Wi-Fi or another steady trusted connection. Follow our Estonia setup guide. Once quantity, duration and the need for a local number agree, the purchase becomes much easier to choose than the biggest number on the shelf.
