Find the pack that fits the route
For a longer trip or more data, compare the total cost of the packs you would actually need with a destination eSIM. Also check the expiry in your account: Everyday’s seven-day add-ons use an Australian midnight rule and activate immediately.

These are seven-day add-ons with separate destination lists. A regional label is not a promise of coverage in every country in that region. Check the actual list for each stop, and check that the offer is available for your Everyday service before purchasing.
The 5GB global option includes calls and texts; it should not be compared with a data-only product as though those extras have no value. If you need ordinary calls to accommodation, restaurants or family, decide how many before choosing the cheaper data-only row.
Read the expiry date, including the timezone
Everyday says an add-on is active immediately and expires at midnight AEST or AEDT seven days later, excluding the activation day. That gives the remaining hours of the activation day as well as the stated days. It is different from a rolling timer that ends at the same minute you bought it.
A traveller overseas should use the expiry date and timezone in the account as the reference. Do not assume it ends at local midnight. Take a screenshot after purchase and set a reminder in the destination’s local time, particularly if you have a transfer or long drive near expiry.
Buying before departure also starts this clock before you land. Prepare the app and account at home, then decide when the pack should become active. If you will purchase on arrival, arrange a reliable Wi-Fi connection so you are not depending on a roaming pack you have not bought yet.
When the inexpensive regional pack wins
Consider a one-week USA visit where you expect to use no more than 2GB and do not need ordinary calls. The A$6 North America add-on is a sensible option to check. Our USA 5GB / 30-day eSIM is A$14.95. Paying A$8.95 more for extra data and longer validity is worthwhile only if you need those things.
For two weeks, two A$6 regional purchases would total A$12 and provide 4GB across their separate validity periods, assuming the timing and purchase rules fit. That is still A$2.95 below the 5GB eSIM price. Avoid paying for a larger plan just because its cost per gigabyte looks lower.
The examples leave out ordinary calls and the cost of keeping your Australian service active. Before adding or replacing a pack, read the purchase screen for the number of packs allowed and what happens to any data left. That matters if you’re planning to buy several small packs instead of one larger allowance.
When a longer data allowance is more useful
A longer holiday changes the decision. A 30-day total-data eSIM does not need a new weekly pack simply because the first week has ended. It also lets you use the allowance unevenly, for example more data while driving between towns and less while staying somewhere with Wi-Fi.
For a Thailand trip needing around 10GB, our Thailand 10GB / 30-day plan is A$16.95. Compare that with the amount of data you need from Everyday’s 1GB Asia packs, along with its current limits on repeated purchases. Do not multiply a small pack indefinitely and assume the account will let you buy them all.
Keep your Australian number with a clear division of work
On a compatible unlocked dual SIM phone, use the travel eSIM for mobile data and turn data roaming off on Everyday. Disable automatic data switching. Leave the Australian line active only if you want to use it and have checked the applicable roaming terms.
Everyday’s published add-on terms say receiving SMS is free. If your plan is to receive bank codes without any add-on, confirm that exact arrangement with Everyday first. A statement about the price of an incoming text does not by itself establish whether your particular service can connect without a pack.
Get the arrival setup ready
Buy your travel eSIM before flying and save the email. Install after landing on working airport Wi-Fi, hotel Wi-Fi or another steady trusted connection. Follow the selected plan’s instructions, then check both lines using our dual SIM travel setup guide.
