A fresh high-speed allowance each day sounds tidy. It still needs to fit your actual trip, including the busy days when you're uploading photos, booking the next stop and persuading the group to agree on dinner.
For Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia, our current five-country product offers both daily high-speed and Unlimited plans. At the seven-day prices below, the Unlimited offer costs less than the listed daily options, so we'd compare that first rather than choosing from the daily label alone.
Current prices for the same five countries
| Option | Period | Price |
|---|---|---|
| 1GB/day | 1 / 3 / 7 days | A$8.95 / A$25.95 / A$55.95 |
| 3GB/day | 1 / 3 / 7 days | A$16.95 / A$47.95 / A$104.95 |
| Unlimited | 7 days | A$44.95 |
| Unlimited | 15 days | A$69.95 |
| Unlimited | 30 days | A$124.95 |
All these options cover Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia. See the five-country daily plans and the separate Unlimited options.
The daily plans give you 1GB or 3GB of fast data each day, then continue at 384kbps until the next allowance begins. The unlimited offer does not have a total data limit or extra slowdown for heavy use. Its listed typical speed is 10โ20Mbps, rather than a guaranteed speed; the network affects what you actually get.
For seven days, Unlimited is A$11 less than the listed 1GB/day option. We wouldn't tell you to pay more simply because the daily allowance looks familiar. For a one- or three-day stop, the shorter daily choices can still be worth comparing against a small fixed allowance.
The daily reset changes with your local timezone
These five-country daily options reset at midnight UTC+8. That is:
- Midnight in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Bali.
- 11pm in Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City and Jakarta.
A border crossing doesn't restart the day or add another daily allowance. If you've used the high-speed amount, use dependable Wi-Fi for time-sensitive tasks until the stated reset. Don't assume the reduced connection will handle an important call or upload.
There is no daily fast-data allowance to refill on this unlimited offer. With a set trip allowance, you also keep using the same remaining balance across the trip rather than starting over each morning.
One large allowance can suit uneven days
Suppose you've allowed 2GB for one busy upload day and 0.2GB on several quieter days. A 1GB/day plan still reaches its high-speed limit on the upload day. A total-data plan lets that busier day use more of the same shared pool.
Our Asia 7 Areas fixed-data options cover all five countries plus Cambodia and the Philippines. Current examples include 3GB for 30 days at A$19.76 and 10GB for 30 days at A$34.95. Choose the allowance from the whole trip estimate; those prices don't make 3GB enough for a trip needing 8GB.
Use the planner above with your dates, phone-use style and hotspot requirement, then read our five-country data guide for a worked two-week budget and the fixed-data alternative.
Hotspot and start windows
The five-country Unlimited offer explicitly supports hotspot with no separate hotspot allowance. The daily options say tethering depends on the network and your phone. If sharing a laptop connection is central to the trip, the Unlimited offer has clearer permission; reception and speed at a particular hotel still aren't guaranteed.
These five-country plans must be started within 60 days of purchase. Their days begin when the eSIM first connects to a mobile network covered by the plan. You cannot reload them, so choose a duration covering the whole stay.
Save the setup email before you fly. Install after landing on airport Wi-Fi that lets you sign in and load a normal webpage. If that won't work, use hotel Wi-Fi or another steady, trusted connection and follow the email there.
