Five countries can fit into one trip. Whether your camera roll will fit on your phone by the end is another questionโ€ฆ

For your data plan, start with the days you'll be away and what you'll actually do online. Maps and messages need a different budget from uploading videos or sharing a connection with a laptop. The useful number is the allowance that covers your trip, with a little room for changes.

Use the planner above: enter your arrival and departure dates, choose the closest match to your phone use and say whether you'll need hotspot. It gives you an approximate data range and compares available plans. If it shows a limitation, read that before selecting the plan. The estimate is a starting point, rather than a measurement of your phone.

A two-week trip, worked through

For example, here's a 14-day budget allowing 0.4GB a day for everyday phone use and another 2GB for uploads:

What you're allowing forData
Everyday phone use, budgeted at 0.4GB a day for 14 days5.6GB
Extra photos and uploads across the trip2GB
Subtotal7.6GB
With a 25% buffer9.5GB

For that budget, the Asia 7 Areas 10GB plan at A$34.95 for 30 days covers the amount and the 14-day trip. Its included countries are Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia and the Philippines. The 10GB is shared across your included stops; crossing a border doesn't give you another 10GB.

If your planner result already includes a buffer, don't multiply it by 1.25 again. One helping of breathing room is enough.

Fixed data, daily data and Unlimited are different choices

Our five-country eSIM covers Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia. It currently offers daily high-speed plans and Unlimited options. You don't have to choose a daily allowance simply because you're visiting all five.

ExamplePriceHow the data works
Asia 7 Areas 10GB, 30 daysA$34.95One total allowance across its seven included countries
Five-country Unlimited, 7 daysA$44.95No total cap or fair-use threshold in this offer's current terms
Five-country Unlimited, 15 daysA$69.95The same Unlimited structure for a longer trip
Five-country 1GB/day, 7 daysA$55.951GB at high speed each day, then 384kbps until its stated reset

We'd choose the 10GB fixed-data option for the 9.5GB example. If you expect substantially more use and prefer an offer without a total allowance to track, the 15-day Unlimited option covers the two-week trip. Its listed typical roaming average is 10 to 20Mbps, with actual speed depending on the network. Unlimited isn't a promise of the fastest possible connection.

A seven-day daily plan doesn't cover 14 days. Choose a period that reaches the final day you'll need data, rather than hoping a larger GB/day figure also buys more days.

Sharing data with a laptop

The five-country Unlimited offer supports hotspot with no separate hotspot allowance in its current terms. The fixed Asia 7 option's hotspot availability depends on the network and device; those are different sharing conditions.

If work depends on tethering, the confirmed sharing terms make the five-country Unlimited offer the clearer choice between these two. Keep a separate connection available for an important call, because hotspot permission doesn't guarantee reception or call quality at your accommodation.

Buy before flying, set up after landing

Save your setup email before departure. After landing, join airport Wi-Fi, finish any sign-in and open a normal webpage before starting installation from the email. If that connection won't work, use hotel Wi-Fi or another steady, trusted connection.

The fixed and Unlimited examples above start their running validity at the first supported network connection. Their purchase-to-start windows differ: 180 days for the named Asia 7 fixed option and 60 days for these five-country options. Buy within the relevant window; waiting to install doesn't extend it.
