For a modest-use trip, compare one set allowance
Ubigi's Japan 10GB/30-day page displays US$16.50. Current Australian-dollar alternatives include our 10GB/30 days at A$19.95, Travelkon's A$25, SimCorner's A$25, and Airalo's A$26.50 for the same amount and duration.
For an assumed 8GB fortnight, each supplies 2GB beyond the declared budget and enough running time. Convert the actual payable USD total with any fees before calling an AUD option cheaper. The displayed amounts alone don't prove that our A$19.95 beats US$16.50 after conversion.
Airalo's separate 10GB/15-day selection is A$25.50. For that fortnight example, it fits for A$1 less than its thirty-day selection. Travelkon currently permits hotspot and continues at 200kbps after the selected Japan high-speed allowance; our quoted fixed plan has conditional sharing and stops at exhaustion. Those differences belong beside the price.
For an uneven trip, keep the high-use day visible
Ubigi sells more than one kind of unlimited plan. Selected daily offers give you 5GB at faster speeds, then 2Mbps, while others set a faster-data allowance for the whole plan. Check the exact package before switching, because the word “unlimited” doesn’t tell you when that faster data renews.
Imagine 7GB on one upload day and 1GB across the rest of the trip. A fixed 10GB total fits that assumed 8GB distribution. A 5GB daily threshold is crossed by 2GB on the busy day, even if later days are almost empty. That doesn't make daily data bad; it makes this particular distribution relevant.

For laptop sharing, compare the separate allowance
Holafly's Japan plan has unlimited-labelled phone data but 1GB of hotspot each day. It doesn't fit a 3GB laptop session on one day. Our Japan 10Mbps seven-day unlimited offer at A$24.95 has 6GB of hotspot across the whole plan, while our seven-day full-speed offer at A$34.95 has no separate hotspot allowance in its selected terms.
A stated 10GB sharing requirement therefore exceeds the 6GB product by 4GB. The full-speed option has a different sharing fit, subject to actual network and device performance. Keep a suitable backup connection for an essential meeting; a plan allowance doesn't guarantee a call will be clear.
If you're changing because the existing order won't connect
Use the Ubigi recovery guide first. Keep the profile installed, confirm it is selected for data and compare the APN/roaming settings with the supplied instructions. Buying another plan before checking those can create a second order without solving the settings problem.
Ubigi's ordinary preloaded-QR refund route requires an unscanned QR; a separate technical-fault route may apply. An alternative's refund policy doesn't change the remedy for the Ubigi order you already bought.
For a new SIM Shop plan, buy within its stated start window and save the email. Install after landing on working Wi-Fi, then select the travel data line with home-line data roaming and automatic switching off.
