What matters before you choose
That suits a particular kind of trip: a month in one place, accommodation wifi you cannot rely on, or island-hopping where you are away from wifi for days. If a laptop must use your phone hotspot, our shop places no separate hotspot cap, but supplier support and network limits are unconfirmed, so do not rely on it for essential work.
If your fortnight fits within 10GB, our 30-day fixed plan at A$17.95 costs less. This page helps you compare that with the unlimited option.
What the plan is
No daily allowance, no reset, no total cap, no stated threshold. You use what you use.
We set this supplier-backed position alongside the competitor terms we could verify in what unlimited actually means.
Two things worth saying alongside it. This is a written supplier commitment quoted as we received it, which is the same standard we hold everyone else to on that page. And if your plan is ever slowed, email us, because it goes to us directly and we answer our own support.

Choosing between unlimited and a fixed plan
Our Indonesia 10GB plan is A$17.95 and runs thirty days. Seven days of unlimited is A$36.95. At the top end, thirty days of unlimited is A$113.95 against A$49.95 for our 50GB plan over the same period.
So the money you would spend on a week of unlimited buys 20GB of fixed data instead, and fifty gigabytes covers a great deal of a month in Bali.
We sell both and we would rather you had the right one. For a straightforward holiday that is usually the fixed plan. The next section is who the unlimited plan is built for.
When unlimited is the right call in Indonesia
Long stays. If mobile data on your phone carries a month of navigation, bookings, calls and uploads, 50GB may be too little. If your work depends on tethering a laptop, choose a plan with confirmed hotspot support or ask us before buying.
Unreliable accommodation wifi. If your accommodation connection fails, you may lean more heavily on phone data. That can use a fixed bucket quickly. We set no separate shop cap on hotspot use, but supplier support and network limits are unconfirmed.
Multiple islands. Moving between Bali, Lombok, the Gilis and Nusa Penida means more navigation, more bookings and more time away from any wifi at all.
You do not want to track data use. That is a real reason and we are not going to be sniffy about it. You are paying roughly twice the price to never check a usage screen. Some people are happy to make that trade and they are not wrong.
Buy it close to your departure date
Every plan in our unlimited range runs on a sixty day activation window from purchase, so the sweet spot is buying within about a month of flying.
Bali is the destination people book furthest ahead, so this one is worth a note in the calendar. If you are booking in September for a trip in January, some fixed-data Indonesia plans have longer start windows and are the better fit for that timeline. Come back for the unlimited plan nearer the date.
Sharing your connection
The SIM Shop places no separate cap on personal hotspot use for this plan. That is our retailer policy. The supplier has not confirmed that tethering works on these exact eSIMs, any network cap or a connected-device limit. We will not turn supplier silence into a technical guarantee.
If sharing is essential to your Indonesia trip, choose a plan with confirmed hotspot terms or ask us before buying. Our Japan full-speed term does not establish the Indonesia position. See our hotspot comparison.

Questions people actually ask
Is the Bali unlimited plan really unlimited?
Our supplier has told us in writing that there is no total cap, no fair-use threshold and no additional throttling. That is the strongest written statement in the category, and we publish it as we received it.
How much does unlimited cost compared with a normal plan?
Seven days of unlimited is A$36.95, against A$17.95 for a 10GB plan that lasts thirty days. Four to eight gigabytes can be a useful planning range for a week of maps, messages and browsing; if that matches your usage, the fixed plan costs less.
Should I buy unlimited for a two-week Bali holiday?
If your fortnight fits within 20GB, that fixed 30-day plan costs A$24.95, less than seven days of unlimited. Choose unlimited for heavy use on your own phone or as a mobile-data fallback. We set no separate shop hotspot cap, but do not rely on sharing until supplier support is confirmed.
Can I share the connection with my partner?
We place no separate shop cap on personal hotspot use. The supplier has not confirmed tethering support, network limits or connected-device limits for these exact plans. Ask us before buying if sharing is essential.
How long do I have to start the plan?
Sixty days from purchase, so buy within about a month of flying. Bali gets booked a long way ahead, so for an early booking some fixed-data plans have longer start windows.
Does it include calls or texts?
No. It is data-only. Keep your Australian line on with data roaming off if you need bank codes by SMS.
How much data do I actually need for Bali?
Our sizing guide helps you estimate it: how much data for Bali and Indonesia.
