What matters before you choose

The whole-plan structure is the part worth understanding: there is no daily high-speed reset, so one heavy day does not trigger a separate next-day penalty. It still counts towards the same 100GB total.

On a thirty-day trip it costs less than our 50GB fixed plan while offering a larger high-speed allowance. Compare the speed and start-window terms as well.

What 100GB across a plan actually means

A daily cap can slow you down after one heavy day. With a whole-plan allowance, twenty gigabytes on a rainy Tuesday in Chiang Mai reduces the remaining 100GB balance, but does not create a separate Wednesday limit.

This plan gives you 100GB at up to 10Mbps across its whole validity period. Compare another Thailand plan on the same trip length, total price, speed, hotspot terms and start window. A data figure from a plan for another destination is not a like-for-like comparison.

On a thirty-day plan, 100GB averages about 3.3 gigabytes a day if you spread it evenly, and you do not have to spread it evenly. A short ordinary holiday is less likely to reach it, but heavy uploads could.

The speed ceiling is up to 10Mbps before the 100GB threshold. Maps, messaging, calls and some HD playback can work when the connection sustains the needed speed. Large uploads and 4K video may take longer.

After 100GB, 384kbps can support basic messaging and may load maps slowly. Video playback is likely to be difficult.

Prices

Thirty durations, one to thirty days.

Two places where a longer plan costs the same. Fourteen and fifteen days are both A$52.95. Eighteen, nineteen and twenty days are all A$59.95. If your trip is fourteen days, fifteen gives you an extra day at the same price. If it is eighteen, twenty gives you two.

Among the Thailand unlimited durations shown here, twenty-eight days has the lowest average daily price: A$2.86 a day. Buy enough validity for the trip you are taking, and compare the total price as well.

The one place unlimited genuinely wins on price

Thirty days of this plan is A$85.95. Our 50GB fixed plan, also thirty days, is A$89.95.

The unlimited plan is four dollars cheaper and offers twice the high-speed allowance. It has a 10Mbps ceiling and a 60-day start window, so compare those terms with the selected 50GB plan as well as the price.

For a week it is the other way around. Seven days of unlimited is A$24.95 against A$16.95 for a 10GB plan that runs thirty days, which is 1.47 times the price for data most people will not use.

Against buying a SIM at the airport when you land

Thailand’s airport tourist SIM counters are a real alternative to buying before departure. Counter hours and locations can change, so check your arrival airport and time if this is your fallback.

Two things to weigh. Registration may require your passport, and buying at a counter takes time after a flight. Check the operator’s current payment methods and opening hours before relying on an airport purchase.

The comparison is time as well as price: buy before departure and save your setup email, then install after landing on working wifi. Or buy at an airport counter after arrival. Check its opening hours first.

Two things to know before you buy

Start it within sixty days of purchase. The unlimited range runs on a sixty day activation window, so buy within about a month of flying. Some fixed-data Thailand plans have longer start windows; check the selected variation.

It is data-only, with no number for standard calls or SMS. If you need texts on your Australian number, keep that line enabled, check its carrier roaming service and turn its data roaming off. Bank text delivery is not guaranteed.

Sharing your connection

Is the Thailand unlimited plan actually unlimited?

You get 100GB at up to 10Mbps across the whole plan rather than per day, and it does not reset, so one heavy day does not trigger a separate next-day cap. Past 100GB you continue at 384kbps rather than losing service. Its whole-plan structure gives you flexibility across heavy and light days. The 100GB threshold and 384kbps step both apply regardless of trip length.

Is 100GB enough?

For a light or moderate trip, likely. On a thirty-day plan it is about 3.3GB a day averaged out. Daily video uploads could use more, and supplier hotspot support and metering are not confirmed for this exact plan.

What happens after 100GB?

You keep going at 384kbps. Basic messaging should work; maps may load slowly and video playback is likely to be difficult.

Does the 100GB reset?

No. The 100GB allowance applies once across the whole plan. A heavy day uses more of that balance, leaving less for later, but does not create a separate next-day limit.

Is unlimited cheaper than a normal plan?

For a month, yes. Thirty days of unlimited is A$85.95 against A$89.95 for our 50GB plan. For a week, no. Seven days is A$24.95 against A$16.95 for 10GB.

Which duration is the best value?

Twenty-eight days at A$2.86 a day. And watch the flat spots: fifteen days costs the same as fourteen, and twenty costs the same as eighteen.

Can I use it as a hotspot?
