Four days, Cyber Monday included. Everything opens at once, for everyone, at midnight on the Friday. If you are still deciding whether to wait for it, we have gone through that properly in should you wait for Black Friday to buy a travel eSIM.

Six ways a plan can be on sale

A plan marked Black Friday gets one of these:

• 30% off. You pay 70% of the ordinary price.
• 25% off. You pay 75%.
• 20% off. You pay 80%.
• 15% off. You pay 85%.
• 10% off. You pay 90%.
• A free data upgrade. The price holds and the plan grows. You pay for the size you picked and we send the size above it.

Each marked plan has one stated offer. A free upgrade replaces a discount on eligible fixed-data plans; unlimited plans have a percentage discount, because switching speed, duration or hotspot terms would change the product.

The unlimited range is in the planned sale

Every one of our 82 currently listed unlimited variations across Australia, Bali and Indonesia, Japan and Thailand is included in the planned Black Friday sale list. Discounts vary by exact plan from 10% to 30%; ordinary prices still apply until the sale opens. The selected plan will show its final price and offer before you buy.

The destinations are different products, so compare the terms alongside the price: Japan has a choice of an up-to-10Mbps plan with a hotspot cap or a full-speed plan with sharing subject to its terms. Thailand has 100GB at up to 10Mbps, then 384Kbps. Indonesia and Thailand have no separate shop-imposed hotspot cap, but supplier tethering support and device or network limits remain unconfirmed. What that looks like on one destination

Japan is the clearest example, because every offer we run turns up in it.

Look at the 10GB row. We could hand you twice the data for the same money, which beats any discount we could have put on it, so that is what we did. The 20GB went as deep as it would go and landed at 25%.

That is the whole idea of the sale. Each plan we marked got pushed as far as it would go, and the page tells you where it landed.

The free upgrades

On these, the price holds and the plan grows. You pay for the size you picked and we send the one above it.

Two things worth knowing.

It moves you up a full size. Buy the 5GB and the 10GB is what arrives.

Some upgrades stretch your validity as well. Look at the UK line: you buy 1GB with 7 days on it and we send 3GB with 30. Where that happens, both numbers are on the plan page, because it is a better deal than it first looks and it would be strange to hide it behind the words “next tier”. Every upgrade keeps at least the validity you paid for.

How we decided what each plan gets

We could have picked one number, marked whatever could carry it, and left it there. We went the other way and worked each plan out on its own.

That is why the sale looks the way it does:

• Where a plan could carry 30%, it got 30%. Many marked plans reach that depth.
• Where the next size up was worth more to you than money off, you get the bigger plan instead.
• Where 30% was out of reach, we took it as deep as it would go, which landed at 25%, 20%, 15% or 10% on other plans. Each exact offer will be marked plainly.
• And where an offer would have meant losing money on every order, the plan keeps its everyday price. We would rather leave a plan at its normal price than fund a discount by lifting the price first.

Plans on their everyday price do not carry a Black Friday badge, so what you see on a plan page is exactly what you get. There is nothing to unlock, nothing to claim, and no code to remember.

What it works with

You still earn SIM Shop Credit on what you pay. Your Passport Club progress counts the amount you actually pay, after discounts and Credit, so buying in the sale can move the spend part of your progress more slowly. The order and destination can still count when the usual Passport Club conditions are met. You do not need an account either. Guests get exactly the same offers.

The one rule is that a Black Friday plan carries one offer:

Each marked plan receives one Black Friday offer: 10%, 15%, 20%, 25% or 30% off, or a free data upgrade. Black Friday offers cannot be combined with coupons, SIM Shop Credit redemption, Mates Rates or Passport Club rewards, but eligible signed-in customers still earn SIM Shop Credit on the amount paid.

So during the sale, your other rewards sit tight and keep for later. Your Credit balance stays exactly where it is, and your A$5 welcome offer, Signal Boost and Choose-Your-Drop all remain available for a future order where their terms allow. Guests earn no Credit or Passport progress on the order, because there is no account to put it in.

Buying now for a trip next year

There are two dates on a travel eSIM. The use-by date is how long you have to start the plan. The validity is how long it runs once you have started it. The 30 days in “Japan 3GB / 30 days” is the validity.

Check the selected plan’s start window before buying for a future trip. Many plans give you 180 days, but others give you 60. The new unlimited range in Australia, Indonesia, Japan and Thailand has a 60-day window. A plan bought on 27 November with a 180-day window can reach a late-May trip; a 60-day plan would need starting around 26 January 2027, subject to its exact expiry rule.

For an April trip, choose a variation whose own page confirms a long enough use-by. The number of days in the plan name is its active validity, not the purchase-to-start window. There is more in how far ahead you should buy a travel eSIM.

If your trip changes, you get your money back

An eSIM bought during the Black Friday promotion can be returned under our voluntary change-of-mind promise within 12 months of purchase if it remains uninstalled, unactivated and unused. This does not extend the plan’s use-by period, and your rights under Australian Consumer Law are additional to this promise.

Trips move. The campaign change-of-mind promise gives an eligible uninstalled eSIM a 365-day request window, but it does not extend the plan’s use-by. A 60-day plan bought in November will not remain startable for an April trip.

• It covers paid eSIMs bought between 27 and 30 November 2026.
• You have 365 days from buying to ask.
• The profile needs to show no installation, no activation and no data use. Installed on a phone but never used still counts as installed, which is why all three words are there.
• We refund what you paid, back to the card you paid with. On a discounted plan that is the discounted price. On an upgrade plan it is the price of the plan you bought.
• Any Credit you earned on the order comes back off with it.
• It gives you your money back rather than more time, so it does not extend the use-by date.

Your rights under Australian Consumer Law sit alongside all of this. They are not capped at twelve months, they are not limited to unused profiles, and they apply just the same on a sale order. This promise is on top of them.

Questions people actually ask

How do I know what my plan gets?

The offer is shown on the plan page before you buy: 10%, 15%, 20%, 25% or 30% off, or the exact free upgrade with the data and validity you will receive.

Why does one Japan plan get 30% and another get 25%?

Because they cost us different amounts to supply. We set the offer per plan and pushed each one as deep as it would go, rather than picking one number and stretching it across the catalogue.

How does a free data upgrade work?

You buy the named plan at its ordinary price and we send you the larger eSIM instead. The exact plan you will receive, its data and its validity are all shown before you buy.

Is the sale sitewide?

No. Only plans marked Black Friday receive a campaign offer. Each marked plan shows whether it receives 10%, 15%, 20%, 25% or 30% off, or a free data upgrade.

Does every Black Friday plan receive 30% off?

No. The exact treatment depends on the plan. Marked plans receive one of five percentage discounts or a free data upgrade, and the applicable offer is displayed with the plan.

Can I combine the Black Friday offer with another code or reward?

No. A marked plan receives one Black Friday treatment. Coupons, SIM Shop Credit redemption, Mates Rates and Passport Club rewards cannot be added. Eligible signed-in customers can still earn SIM Shop Credit on the amount paid.

Why is my plan not discounted?

Not every supplier plan supports the same offer. If a plan has no Black Friday mark, its ordinary terms and price apply.

Do I have to be signed in?

No. Guests get the same offers. Guests do not earn Credit or Passport progress.

Can I buy now for a trip next year?

Only if the selected plan’s use-by reaches your trip. A 180-day window from 27 November can reach late May 2027; a 60-day plan, including the new unlimited range, needs starting around 26 January. Check the exact plan before buying.

Can I change my mind later?

The voluntary 12-month change-of-mind promise applies only while the campaign eSIM remains uninstalled, unactivated and unused. It does not extend the plan’s purchase-to-use window, and Australian Consumer Law rights remain unaffected.

Why is there no strike-through price?

We show the price you pay and the offer that applies to that plan, which is the number that matters. If you want to see the discount for yourself, note our prices a fortnight before the sale and compare them during it.
